Summary:
== Introduction == The Warehouse Management System (WMS) in Microsoft Dynamics NAV was developed in order to provide distribution functionality within the base application to meet the needs of companies who require more functionality than that exposed by the inventory module. As per the title suggests, the WMS handles most day to day aspects of managing a warehouse, such as Picks, Bins, Put-Aways, Replenishment & Transit. == History == The Warehouse Management System (WMS) in Dynamics NAV was originally called Navision Advanced Distribution, and was originally developed by [http://www.lanhamassoc.com/ Lanham Associates] in 1997 (Date confirmation?). It first appeared as a vertical application for Navision Financials 2.01, sold by [http://www.lanhamassoc.com/ Lanham Associates], with later development carried out by Navision. The first Navision release for [[NAV_version_history#Navision_Financials_2.50|Navision Financials was 2.50]]. Although from 2.50 onwards, the product was developed by Navision, it was not until [[NAV_version_history#Navision_Solutions_3.00|Navision Solutions 3.00]] where Warehouse Management was shipped as part of the base application. Until that point, Advanced Distribution was a bolted on application which was packaged seperately to the core product. == Warehousing Concepts == == See Also == == External Links == [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warehou...agement_System Warehouse Management Systems at Wikipedia] {{WIP}} Источник http://wiki.dynamicsbook.com/index.php?tit...ouse_Management
